Bolangir: The raids by Income Tax Department continued on the fourth day today in Bolangir, Sambalpur and other places related to Boudh Distillery Pvt Ltd and other companies. According to sources, the IT Department has seized record amount of cash in the last three days from Bolangir, Sambalpur, Boudh and other places of Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The amount is likely to rise further as the officials complete the counting of cash.
The Income Tax officials are continuing counting the seized cash at Bolangir SBI using more than 25 counting machines. The IT officials had seized 19 bags full of currency notes yesterday night from the residence of the Manager of the company Bunty Sahu. According to sources, the IT Department has also seized crores of rupees and huge jewelry from Congress MP Dheeraj Kumar Sahu’s properties in Jharkhand.
According to sources, the Income Tax Department has also roped in special officers from Hyderabad to analyze the seizures on the spot.
