Jagannath Temple Gets Back 397 Crore From Yes Bank Account

Puri: Bringing all the suspense and political hue and cry to an end, private sector bank Yes Bank has credited the SBI account of Sri Jagannath temple Rs 397 Crore today.

Yes Bank has transferred Rs 389 croreof the principal amount and an interest amount of Rs8.23 crore to the Puri Jaganath Temple’s account with the State Bank of India. The fixed deposits had matured last Thursday and there were speculations on the return of the money after the RBI had put a moratorium in the transactions of the Bank.

In a letter to the Chief Administrator of Jagannath Temple, Krishan Kumar, yes Bank wrote ” We have remitted INR 397,23, 27636 ( Principal INR 389 crore and interest INR 8,23,27636) to the designated SBI Account 10913111382 of Jagannath Temple Corpus Fund …….SBI Main Branch Puri”.

The remaining amount of Rs 156 Crore along with the interest will be will be remitted on the maturity date on 30th March 2020.
