Jajpur: The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested an Assistant Block Education Officer: (ABEO) and junior clerk in Badchana block in Jajpur district for allegedly taking bribe from a teacher.
The ABEO has been identified as Amiya Kumar Dash.
Dash along with junior clerk Sudhansu Sekhar Nayak was apprehended by the vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 30,000 from a teacher for release of his arrear pay and other dues pending since long.
In this connection, a case has been registered with Cuttack Vigilance PS under 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018. The investigation is in progress in the matter, the Vigilance said.
