Berhampur: Senior IPS Officer Jay Narayan Pankaj today joined as the new Inspector General of Southern Range, Berhampur. He took charge from outgoing IG Satyabrata Bhoi. The 2005 Batch Odisha Cadre IPS Officer Jay Narayan Panjak will also hold the additional charge of Economic Offences Wing and Special Task Force. Ganjam SP Jagmohan Meena and Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M. were present at the time of his joining.
During his distinguished career, Jay Narayan Pankaj has served in many positions. While serving as SsP of various districts of Odisha like Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Kandhamal, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Bargarh and Keonjhar, he has shown exemplary leadership in counter LWE operations, management of communal harmony, combating corruptions and successful Law and Order management. While serving as SP, Vigilance, he was awarded with best Vigilance Division award in 2014. He has done exemplary work as DIG, STF in seizure of huge quantity of Brown Sugar and he has been awarded with DGP’s disc in 2013. During his tenure as DIG, STF and additional charge as DIG, Economic Office Wing of Crime Branch, and DIG, Rourkela headquarters, Western Police Range, he acted very tough against wildlife criminals and drug mafias. J N Pankaj, originally hailing from Bihar, personally supervise each operation.
