Jharsuguda By-Poll: BJD Demands Action against BJP Candidate for Violating MCC

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has demanded action against BJP candidate for Jharsuguda Assembly by-election Tankadhar Tripathy for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines.

A delegation BJD met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) seeking action against the BJP candidate.
The BJD delegation alleged that Tankadhar Tripathy has violated the MCC by campaigning between 1 am to 2am on May 5 on the main road in front of Lalit Heritage and Mundra Fashion, Samsong chowk under Jharsuguda PS in Jharsuguda assembly constituency.

The delegation has also submitted a pen drive with photo and videos as evidence of the incident, according to a statement issued by the BJD.

Odisha BIP has been habitually violating Model Code of Conduct in elections and by-elections in Odisha over the years, the BJD alleged.
