Jharsuguda: The counting of votes for the crucial Jharsuguda Assembly by-poll began here on Saturday. The early trends show that the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is leading in the by-election.
By the end of the first round of counting, BJD’s Dipali Das is leading by 2706 voted over the BJP candidate. Result trends after the completion of the first round of counting of votes:
BJD: 5944
BJP: 3238
Congress: 123
Notably, a total of 79.21 per cent votes were polled as 2.21 lakh voters exercised their franchise in the by-election held on May 10.
