Bhubaneswar: In a big jolt to the beleaguered Congress, the party’s Jharsuguda unit President Ashok Kumar Mishra on Monday resigned from his post ahead of the crucial by-election to the Jharsuguda Assembly seat.
Mishra stepped down from the post expressing his displeasure in the functioning of the party, as per reports.
He has sent his resignation letter to PCC president Sharat Patnaik.
The by-election to Jharsuguda Assembly seat will be held on May 10. The results will be declared on May 13.
Congress has fielded Tarun Pandey as its candidate for the election.
