Rourkela: Former Biramitrapur MLA and noted tribal leader from Sundargarh, George Tirkey has resigned from the Congress Party today. He has tendered his resignation to the state party chief citing various issues in the party’s Rourkela organisational district.
In his resignation letter, Tirkey wrote that he did all efforts to strengthen the party but due to non-cooperation by many leaders, the Congress is loosing ground. In the present circumstances, there is no chance of the party’s revival.
He said that the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee and the AICC are accountable for this situation and that the party will never come back to power again.
Few days back, George Tirkey had tendered his resignation from the post of President of Rourkela Organisational District of Congress.
