Bhawanipatna: Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested head clerk of Kalampur BEO (Block Education Officer) office in Kalahandi district for allegedly taking bribe from a retired headmaster.
The clerk has been identified as Judhistir Harijan.
Harijan was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.13,000 from a retired headmaster to process release of retirement benefits.
Following the trap, residential house of Harijan at Mathura, Junagarh, Kalahandi and his office room at Kalampur are being searched. In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No 18/2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act.2018 has been registered.
The investigation on this matter is in progress, the vigilance informed.
