Kandhamal Police Swings Into Action to Enforce COVID-19 Lockdown

Phulabani: The police personnel in Kandhamal district have swung into action to strictly enforce the 14-day lockdown imposed by the State Government to break the second wave of Coronavirus.

Led by Superintendent of Police Vineet Agarwal, the police department has stepped up its efforts to ensure strict enforcement of the lockdown in the district, which has so far recorded 6,808 cases, including 514 active cases of COVID-19.
The SP has alerted all police stations to undertake massive enforcement drive as per government protocols in their respective jurisdictions, so that the people will follow COVID guidelines and not let their guard down.

The SP himself visited different market places to supervise the enforcement drive and directed the personnel that no leniency should be shown to lockdown violators. He appealed the people to cooperate with police in the fight against the pandemic and stay at their homes.

He also assured them that there is no need for panic buying of essential commodities. There are enough stock as per our requirement, he added.
In view of the lockdown, the Kandhamal police has also issued 24×7 helpline numbers for grievance redressal.
