Bhubaneswar: Senior Biju Janata Dal Kartik Pandian on Tuesday visited Ganjam district to campaign for the party candidates for the ensuing general elections.
The BJD star campaigner has addressed election rallies in Chikiti and Mohana assembly constituencies under the Berhampur Lok Sabha segment seeking support for MP candidate Bhrugu Baxipatra, Mohana MLA candidate Antaryami Gamango and Chikiti candidate Chinmayananda Srirup Deb. He called upon the people to ensure a landslide victory for the BJD candidates.
Continuing his attack on the opposition, Pandian said that the right place for the criminal is jail. But the opposition has made him as their candidate. We will show him his right place, the BJD leader said.
He further said the opposition is repeatedly talking about double engines. But at the time of giving allowance to the poor, only Rs 300 is given. In Odisha, the Naveen engine is providing Rs 1000 allowance.
Addressing the massive gathering of people in Chikiti, Pandian said that he has a lot of respect for senior party leader Usha Devi. He has known her for 15-16 years. Usha Devi treats him as her son, Pandian said.
The BJD star campaigner has urged the party workers to remain vigilant as opposition candidates are cheating the people by false promises.
Highlighting the transformation programmes at heritage sites, Kartik Pandian said that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik loves all communities and respects their religious beliefs. Therefore, he has worked for the transformation of all the places of worship – the temples, mathas, churches, mosques, Gurudwaras.
Mothers are always given utmost importance by the Chief Minister. The CM has taken a lot of initiatives for them – Mission Shakti programme, Mamata, interest-free loans, sending mothers to Dubai. Mothers have been given a new identity in the society, the senior BJD leader said.
As the head of the family, the Chief Minister has given courage to the poor, for whom the BSKY has been started. Today they are getting treatment in big private hospitals without worry. For the better future of children, more than 8000 high schools have been transformed by the Chief Minister, he added.
He further said that developmental works worth Rs 180 crore are being carried out in Mohana.
