Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested the District Education Officer (DEO) of Kendrapara district for allegedly taking bribe from a government employee.
The DEO has been identified as Sanjib Kumar Singh.
Singh was arrested by the vigilance sleuths while demanding & accepting bribe Rs 20,000 from a complainant (Govt employee) for cancelation of his transfer order & modification to another choice place.
Following trap, simultaneous searches have been launched at 4 locations of Singh.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No 42/22 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation in the matter is in progress, the vigilance informed.
