Kendrapara: Mission Shakti Commissioner-cum-Director Sujata Karthikeyan today urged the officials to ensure that all government schemes and programmes should reach the members of women self-help groups (WSHGs) without any hinderance.
While reviewing the activities of WSHGs during her visit to Kendrapara district, the Sujata Karthikeyan has called for further empowerment of members of Mission Shakti.
She held discussions with Kendrapara Collector Amrit Ruturaj and officials of various departments about the style of functioning of women self-help groups and other major issues pertaining to the development of WSHGs.
The Mission Shakti Director urged the officials to ensure that the women self-help groups should not face any problem from any department.
She also directed them to take steps for further economic empowerment of women.
The visit of Sujata Karthikeyan came days after the State Cabinet approved a proposal to create a separate department of ‘Mission Shakti’ in a bid to accelerate the pace of women empowerment in Odisha.
