Kendrapara: A Kendrapara woman with travel history tested positive for COVID-19, taking total number of cases to two in the district.
The woman, who hails from Naladia village in Rajanagar area, was placed under quarantine after she returned from Kolkata. Her samples came out positive for coronavirus last night.
The district administration has furthered stepped up its efforts to prevent the spread of the killer disease.
Naladia village and its hamlet villages have been sealed for corona containment.
The woman has been admitted to a COVID hospital for treatment. The swab samples of her family members have been collected for testing, said Kendrapara District Collector Samarth Verma.
The district admin has also started door-to-door health screening of the people in the locality.
Earlier, a 32-year-old man of the district who had travel history to Dubai had tested positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the total number of positive cases in the State increased to 54.
