Keonjhar: A couple running a grocery shop in Lasarda village under Balani police station limits in Konjhar district died after miscreants shot at them after a minor quarrel. The incident happened yesterday night. As per reports, four persons had come to the shop of the deceased for purchasing petrol about after a minor spat with the couple, they opened fire injuring them. The local people present near the spot took the injured persons to the hospital but doctors declared them brought dead. The couple is identified as Laxmidhar Apata and his wife Manjulata Apata.
While the motive behind the firing is not known, the police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. A pal of gloom has descended in the village after the incident. More details awaited.
