New Delhi: Kerala will ban sale of compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) and filament light bulbs across the state from November 1.
This has been announced by Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Isaac on Friday.
The Minister said that the decision has been taken to achieve optimum energy efficiency and conserve power.
All the street lights and government building lights will be converted to LED by the end of 2020, he said while adding that nearly 2.5 crore LED bulbs have been produced on a mass scale in the state for public consumption.
