Lady Don Arrested In Bhubaneswar While Exhorting Money In The Guise Of BMC Official

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has arrested one lady don named Anu Mishra while exhorting money from street vendors introducing herself as a BMC official. The Police has also arrested one of her associates in the case. She has been arrested on charges of illegally exhorting money. She is also accused of collecting money from people by giving them shops built illegally on government land.

Acording to sources, the lady don was introducing her as an official of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and exhorting money from small roadside vendors. There were many allegations regarding the lady. Yesterday, the local people of Sailashri Bihar caught her and her associate Omkar Yadav while they tried to attack the people and handed over them to the police. The Chandrasekharpur Police has seized some arms from the car of the lady don. They have been forwarded to court.

According to local public, the lady was collecting money from the vendors in the nearby areas of Sailashree Vihar introducing her as an officer of the BMC for the last few years. She was also threatening the vendors of demolishing the shops if they don’t pay the money. When the vendors came to know about her true identity, they stopped paying the money. Yesterday she threatened a local handicap vendor and asked money and when he refused Anu’s aid tried to attack him with sharp weapons. When protested by local people, both of them tried to flee from the place but were caught by them. Later, the police came and arrested them.
