Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area has formed under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Southwest Bay of Bengal coast. The Indian Meteorological Department has said that the low pressure area is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over central parts of the Bay of Bengal on 24th May.
It is likely to move north-eastwards and intensify further thereafter and under its influence, several parts of Odisha may experience rainfall on 25th May. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the central and adjoining south Bay of Bengal from 23rd May and into North Bay of Bengal from 24th May onwards. Fishermen out at sea are advised to return to the coast before 23rd May. The Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha has notified all the district Collectors to remain alert to take necessary precautions in view of the situation and meet any eventuality.
