Bhopal: In the wake of rising cases of COVID cases in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered imposition of night curfew in Bhopal and Indore from tomorrow.
Night curfew will be imposed in the two cities from March 17 until further orders as they account for a maximum number of new COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh.
Citing the surge in the COVID cases alarming, the Chief Minister said that his government doesn’t want to go for lockdown but imposing night curfew in some places, including Indore and Bhopal seems unavoidable.
Madhya Pradesh on Monday registered 797 coronavirus positive cases, taking its tally to 2,69,391, while the toll rose to 3,890 after three deaths.
With 259 new cases, Indore’s caseload reached 62,411 while that of Bhopal rose to 45,535 with the addition of 199 cases. Indore has reported 943 deaths and Bhopal 622, while the active caseload in the two cities is 1,686 and 978 respectively, according to reports.
