Bhubaneswar: In an important development that is going to further strengthen the Biju Janata Dal in Balasore District, the sitting BJP MLA from Nilagiri, Sukanta Nayak today joined the party. Sukanta and his thousands of followers joined the BJD in the presence of senior leader and Balasore Observer Pratap Deb, Sasmit Patra and others at the Sankha Bhawan. It is the home coming of Sukanta Nayak, as he was a member of the Biju Janata Dal earlier. Sukanta had resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party two days back. He had won as a Biju Janata Dal MLA from Nilagiri in 2014 but later joined the BJP in 2019.
