Bhubaneswar: A police officer from Odisha’s Malkangiri district has been arrested for allegedly possessing huge unaccounted cash.
According to Odisha Vigilance, Susanta Kumar Sahoo, Inspector in Charge, Motu Police Station in Malkangiri district, has been arrested on Thursday for possession of unaccounted cash Rs 2.8 lakh, which he could not satisfactorily account for.
The copy was intercepted on Wednesday at Khurdha while plying from Motu to his native village, Nakhara.
During house searches, among other incriminating material, a registered sale deed of value Rs 24,90,000 of plot at Nakhara, purchased recently in the name of his wife, has been recovered.
The arrested cop is being forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
