Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in the Manas Swain murder case, prime accused Sarmistha Rout on Friday confessed to the crime, according to reports.
Rout confessed to the crime during the interrogation by the Crime Branch team.
She has reportedly confessed to have kidnapped the cameraman Manas Swain from Palaspur village in Bhadrak district with the help of other accused on February 7. He died the next day because of the injuries caused by the brutal assault at Dayal Ashram here.
Rout broke down before the Crime Branch team while she was asked to reconstruct the crime scene at Dayal Ashram, reports added.
