Bhubaneswar: The south-west monsoon has covered the entire Odisha on Saturday, informed the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The monsoon has further advanced today after an onset over Odisha on Thursday to cover all the 30 districts in the State, said the regional centre of the IMD.
The south-west monsoon had advanced into most parts of the state on Friday causing rainfall in many areas except around six districts, such as Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, it said.
The low pressure area over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Coastal Odisha & neighbourhood has become less marked. However, the associated cyclonic circulation now lies over north Interior Odisha and neighbourhood and extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height, the Met department said.
As the conditions were favourable for its further movement, the south-west monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of Odisha today, and thus it has now covered the entire state, it added.
