Monsoon Session of Parliament: BJD To Focus On Nine Issues

Bhubaneswar: With the Monsoon Session of the Parliament beginning from today, the Biju Janata Dal is all set to focus and raise nine issues related to state and national interest. Issues such as Women’s reservation Bill, Special Focus State demand, 7 lakh houses under PMAY-G, reintroduction of five kilo rice under PMGKAY will be raised in both the houses of the Parliament informed BJD Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra. Along with these issues, the Biju Janata Dal members will raise the issue of lifting of rice by the Center in the interest of the farmers and increasing the Minimum Support price of paddy.

The long pending issues of Odisha like supply of adequate fertilizers, improvement in Telecommunication infrastructure, withdrawl of GST over Kendu leaf are the key issues that the Biju Janata Dal will raise in this Session of the parliament.

The Parliamentary Party meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday decided on the party’s stand on the various issues. The Chief Minister had advised the party members to raise the issues of state interest forcefully.
