Mortal Remains of Naba Das Consigned to Flames with Full State Honours

Jharsuguda: The mortal remains of Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Das was consigned to flames with full state honours in his native place here on Monday.

His son, Bishal Das lighted the funeral pyre to complete the last rites at Kherual in Jharsuguda. Before the cremation, the Health Minister was accorded a guard of honour.

Several leaders cutting across the party lines and thousands of people were present during the funeral.

The body of Naba Das was brought to Jharsuguda from Bhubaneswar by a special flight.

Earlier this morning, Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid their last respects to Naba Das.

The State Government on Sunday declared a three-day State mourning as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
