Nabarangpur: The most ambitious Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva service has commenced in Nabarangpur district from today to provide advanced health services to the people of remote and backward areas. As part of this, a two-day health camp held at the District Headquarters Hospital in Nabarangpur wherein a five member team of specialists from cardiology, anesthesiology, neurology, gastroenterology and nephrology departments conducted health checkups of the people.
The health specialists arrived at Nabarangpur in a chartered plane and have started screening patients. The specialists team included Dr Datteswar Hota of Urology Department, Dr Chittaranjan Panda of Gastroenterology Department, Dr Biswajit of Cardiology Department, Dr Banabihari Mishra and Dr Khageswar Rout.
While more than 200 patients had pre-registered for health checkups, daily five surgeries will be conducted on the needy.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the ambitious Air Health Service for the remote districts of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada in the first phase in December last. The service has been operational in Nuapada, Kalahandi, Malakngiri and Nabarangpur.
