Koraput: With an aim to help the students residing in the remote areas of Kotia Panchayat to commute to the newly set up Odisha Adarsha Vidyala at Kotia, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has started a free bus service. The bus will carry students from the far flung areas of the Pottangi Block to the OAV at Kotia and help reduce the hardships faced by the children commuting between their homes and School. Recently, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Revenue and Disaster Management Satyabrat Sahu had visited Kotia and advised the authorities to start a bus service to the school.
Reacting to the initiative by Nalco, Collector Abdaal M. Akhtar has said that the initiative will definitely help in boosting attendance in the newest OAV. Nalco in turn has said that the initiative will reduce the hardships faced by children commuting between their homes and School.
The new Odisha Adarsha Vidyala has been set up by the Government of Odisha at Kotia will provide quality education to the students of the remote bordering areas of Pottangi Block. This is a part of the District Administration’s efforts to speed up development activities in the bordering villages of Odisha with Andhra Pradesh. This CBSE affiliated school will also help to bring in students who are pursuing education in the nearby Telugu medium schools in the bordering areas.
