Bhubaneswar: Today is National Press Day. The day is observed to commemorate a free and responsible press.
On the occasion, the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department, Government of Odisha has organized a special newspaper exhibition at Jayadev Bhavan.
I&PR Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of distinguished guests and departmental officials.
Several newspapers, magazines and periodicals have been displayed in the exhibition.
Earlier today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has greeted the journalists and media persons on the occasion of National Press Day.
In a message the Chief Minister said that a vigilant and free press is the keystone of an informed society and vibrant democracy.
The CM also urged all to take pledge to make the fourth pillar free, fair and independent to speak the truth and disseminate unbiased information.
