Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today said that his government will leave no stone unturned towards achieving the goal of an empowered and inclusive Odisha.

“An empowered, inclusive Odisha is our goal and people of Odisha have blessed us to realize this goal. My Government will leave no stone unturned towards achieving this goal”, said the Chief Minister while delivering the Vote of Thanks in the Assembly today.

Naveen also appealed the members of the Assembly to cooperate the government in achieving the goal.

Naveen said, “The will of the people is supreme in a democracy. I bow to the verdict of our people who have given us yet another opportunity to serve the State. The faith that the people have reposed in us is clearly reflected in the mandate”.

“With the blessings of the people, we will continue our .journey determinedly to deliver a clean, transparent and citizen-centric governance”, he said.

The BJD supremo said that during the last 19 years his government had kept its promises and it is proud for the achievements.

The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the people who have shown indomitable spirit during the cyclone Fani.

He said, “Recently, our State faced extremely severe cyclone ‘FANI’, which caused extensive damage to life and property in Puri, Khordha and other districts. Our management of FAN! and restoration efforts have been appreciated nationally and internationally. I express my gratitude to the people of Odisha who have shown indomitable spirit in such a difficult time”.

“Our Government is committed to the cause of the people, especially the weaker sections. In order to send a clear message of our commitment to keep the promises made to the people. the first meeting of the Council of Ministers was convened immediately after the swearing-in ceremony and it was resolved to implement the manifesto promises as the priorities of the Government in a time bound manner”, the CM said.

Agriculture continues to be the back bone of the economic growth and prosperity. KALIA scheme will be continued as promised, he said while adding that his government will continue its efforts for development of irrigation.

Explaining women empowerment a key prerequisite for good governance, the Chief Minister said that his government is committed to take women empowerment to the next level.

“My Government will pursue aggressively women reservation in every forum”, the CM expressed.

He also said that ensuring quality education is among the top priorities of his Government.

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas will be made operational in all Blocks of the State, he said.

The Government will set up a Scholarship Council to facilitate scholarships both on merit and socio economic criteria, he further stated.

The Government will take expeditious steps to convert all left out Kutcha houses into Pucca houses, Naveen said.

He said, “Creation of employment opportunities for our youth is the top agenda of our Government. Thirty lakh employment opportunities are expected to be created in six focus sectors. The World Skill Centre shall be producing one lakh filly thousand highly skilled professionals”.

“Our Government is taking all possible steps to establish world class sports facilities in Bhubaneswar in its effort to make Odisha as the preferred Sports destination”, he expressed.

The Chief Minister said, “We had indicated in our manifesto that the State will have a policy of Constructive Cooperation with the Central Government with only agenda of “State’s development- and welfare of four and half crore people of Odisha”.
