The ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’ is given for the spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports by a sportsperson over a period of previous four years.
Bhagat is among the 12 sportspersons to be given the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2021.
Tokyo Olympic gold medallist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, silver medal-winning wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, and Paralympic Games medallists Avani Lekhara, Krishna Nagar, Sumit Antil, and Manish Narwal were among a dozen awarded the prestigious award.
