Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated climate activists from Odisha – Soumya Ranjan Biswal and Archana Soreng – on being selected as young climate change leaders for UN India’s #WeTheChange campaign.

The United Nations in India recently announced the launch of its climate campaign, We The Change, which aims to showcase climate solutions pioneered by young Indians as a celebration of India’s climate leadership.

The campaign – inspired by the stories of India’s young climate leaders – encourages us to adopt a more solution-based, innovative approach to fight climate change.

Soumya Ranjan Biswal and Archana Soreng are among the 17 Young Climate Champions selected for the campaign.

Soumya Ranjan Biswal has actively involved in wildlife conservation activities with a focus on the protection of Olive Ridley Sea turtles. He has organized and participated in 230 beach clean-ups, according to reports.

Archana Soreng has been working for preserving and promoting the traditional knowledge and practices of the Adivasi and forest dwelling communities.
