Naveen Congratulates Three Odisha Players on Being Selected to Represent India at Asia Rugby U18 Girls Rugby7s Championship

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated three rugby players from Odisha on being selected to represent India in Asia Rugby U18 Girls Rugby Sevens Championship 2021.

Taking to Twitter, the Chief Minister congratulated Tarulata Naik, Mama Nayak and Nirmalya Rout, who have been included in the Indian Junior Girls Rugby team for the Asia Rugby U18 Girls Rugby Sevens Championship 2021 to be held in Uzbekistan.


Rugby India today announced the squad of the Indian Junior Girls’ Rugby which will play in the Asia Rugby U-18 Girls’ Rugby Sevens Championship 2021 to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on September 18 and 19, 2021.

The team of 14 players including three from Odisha and five officials (coaches, Physio and Manager) departed to Tashkent today.

The following 14 players (12 team +2 reserve) will represent the nation at the Asia Rugby Championship at Tashkent:
Anshika Chauhan (Captain) – Delhi, Nandini – Delhi, Mama Naik – Odisha, Tarulata Naik – Odisha, Nirmalya Rout – Odisha, Gomti – Delhi, Chanel Crizzle – Goa, Arti Kumari – Bihar, Akanksha Anand Katkade – Maharashtra, Sapna Kumari – Bihar, Vaishnavi Dattatray Patil – Maharashtra, Nikita Oraon – West Bengal, Lavanya Jagdish Adusumalli – Maharashtra and Sonali Oraon – West Bengal.

A total of five countries from across Asia including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), India and the host-Uzbekistan will vie for top honours at the championship.
