New Delhi: Odisha’s Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will support JD (U) candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh in the election for Rajya Sabha deputy chairman post.
Bihar Chief Minister Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) President Nitish Kumar again spoke to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik this morning requesting him for BJD’s support for Harivansh Narayan Singh, who has filed nominations for Rajya Sabha deputy chairman post as NDA nominee.
BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik announced that his party will support to the JD (U) candidate in the election to the deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha scheduled on September 14.
This has been informed by BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sasmit Patra.
Earlier on September 10, Nitish Kumar had talked to Odisha CM seeking BJD support in the ensuing election for the post of Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman.
The post was lying vacant after Harivansh’s term ended. He has since been re-elected to the Upper House as a member from Bihar.
