Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik has expressed his happiness as feature film ‘Daman’ has been selected as the Best Odia film at the 70th National Film Awards announced on Friday.
Naveen has congratulated to all the actors, director, producer and the people behind making the film a success.

Drected by Vishal Mourya and Debi Prasad Lenka and produced by Deependra Samal, the film portrays a doctor’s relentless fight against superstitions and struggle to make tribal people aware of facts about Malaria disease. The film has been considered inspirational for fresh graduate doctors.
Released in Odia as well as a dubbed version in the Hindi language, the film stars Babushaan Mohanty and Dipanwit Dashmohapatra in lead roles.
The film had earned praise from audience as well as critics. The Odisha Government had declared the film tax-free.
