Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects worth Rs 103 crore for Ekamra Constituency today. One of the major projects includes 24 hour Drink From Tap project for Old Town for which the government will spend Rs 33 Crore. The Chief Minister also sanctioned an amount of Rs 65 lakhs for cleaning and restoration of the Kedar Gouri Pushkarini.
Other important projects that will be undertaken include development works worth Rs 8.93 lakhs for Baramunda and Ward Number 24 area, Left side road of Gangua Canal with an estimated cost of Rs 52 Crore, and underground water storage facility at Lingipur with an estimated cost of Rs 1.6 Crore.
Other welfare projects that have been approved by the Chief Minister include Leprosy Colony rehabilitation with an estimated cost of Rs 3.96 Crore, improvement of Daya River Western Canal with Rs 32 lakhs and strengthening of Daya West Canal Embankment woth Rs 17.81 lakhs.
Naveen also sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.5 Crore for the repair and restoration of the Dhauli Peace Pagoda.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen said the government has taken up the Ekamra Yojana for the development of the Lingaraj Area and once completed it will improve the dignity of Bhubaneswar.
