Angul: Further accelerating the pace of development in Angul district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched a slew of development projects worth more than Rs 1805 crore in the district.
During his visit to Angul, the Chief Minister inaugurated 746 development projects worth Rs 313.13 core and laid foundation stones of 795 projects worth Rs 1492.10 crore.
With the launching of the projects on Thursday, the developmental activities in the district will be further enhanced, he said.
Stating Angul is known for its development, Patnaik said employment opportunities are increasing with the establishment of industries in the district.
The Chief Minister said that the state has attracted investment of Rs 10 lakh crore in the recently concluded Make-in-Odisha conclave this year.
He also distributed loans to the tune of Rs 242 core to 7372 Mission Shakti groups, which will benefit more than 75,000 women of the district.
Stating that Mission Shakti is his favourite programme, Patnaik said the mothers of Mission Shakti are meeting him every day and narrating their success stories.
The CM said he wants to see Mission Shakti women members as entrepreneurs and assured that his government will provide all support to them in this regard.
He said that Mission Shakti groups will be given interest-free loans of Rs 50,000 crore over the next five years.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Kuteswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project at the cost of Rs 60.58 crore which will provide Providing Kharif irrigation to 1099 Ha of land.
Naveen also inaugurated the new bus terminal along with commercial complex at Angul at the cost of Rs 41.00 crore. It will provide basic amenities like Waiting Hall, Toilets, Dormitory, Drinking Water facility, Shopping Mall, Restaurant, Lactation Hall, Digital information counter etc. to the Bus Passengers coming to Angul for necessary work.
Other major projects that the CM inaugurated include Kadapada Mega Lift Irrigation Project,Construction of Kumbhia Mega Lift Irrigation Project, 30 bedded MCH building at SDH, Pallahara; Safe City & Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) Project at Talcher; Development of Health & Heritage Corridor at Talcher Municipalit; OPD/ IPD building at CHC Kosala, Chhendipada; Model Smart Park at Athmallik NAC and Model Crematorium at Athmallik NAC.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Mega PWS to 30 GPs of Angul Block at the cost of Rs 304.12 crore. This will provide Portable Drinking Water to 30 Gps of Angul Block through household Tap Connection.
Other major projects, for which the CM laid foundation stones, include In-stream Storage Structure (ISS) across River Brahmani near village Khalpal in Talcher Block of Angul District; Construction of HL bridge over river Brahmani at Talcher connecting NH-53 (Talcher) to NH-149 (Khalpal); Mega PWS to Banarpal & Part of Angul Block.; Construction of Bajrakota Mega Lift Irrigation Project ; Upgradation of 567 Nos. of Upper Primary School:; Construction of Ranjana Mega Lift Irrigation Project; Integrated Infrastructure Complex at Talcher; Construction of HL bridge over river Brahmani at Siling connecting to Talapada;Sports Complex at Angu; Construction of Talcher Stadium and Construction of Model Smart Park at Pallahara Headquarter.
