Rourkela: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched the distribution of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana Smart Health cards in Sundargarh district.
During his visit to the district, the Chief Minister also laid foundation stones and inaugurated a slew of development projects worth Rs 580.82 crores.
The Odisha Government’s historic Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana will benefit about 96 lakh households and 3.5 crore people of the State.
The BSKY Smart card will entitle the beneficiaries’ free treatment at all Government hospitals of the state and more than 200 private hospitals of the state and outside. Each family can avail treatment benefits up to Rs 5 lakh per annum under the scheme and in case of women family members, the limit is Rs 10 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Odisha CM raised the issue of second AIIMS at Sundargarh.
The CM said that the state Government has been repeatedly demanding establishment of second AIIMS in the district.
He further said that his government has already made its stand clear in the State Assembly.
