Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today laid foundation stones for a planetarium in Rayagada and district science centre at Jeypore in Koraput district.
He laid the foundation stones through video conferencing.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that as of now two planetariums are functioning, but the government is planning to set up six more planetariums.
“The State government is also planning to set up one district science centre in each district with an investment of Rs 100 crore, he added.
He further said that the Pathani Samanta Planetarium in the State capital will also be converted into a 3D planetarium.
Patnaik advised youths to adopt a scientific approach in their life.
Science and technology has played a significant role in development of human race. Science and development are two sides of a coin, said Patnaik.
