Lal Bahadur Shastri was the India’s second prime minister. He was born on October 2, 1904, in Uttar Pradesh’s Mughalsarai. Shastri was among the leading propagators towards India’s freedom struggle and fought especially for the poor of the nation. He joined the freedom struggle in 1920 and participated in the Non-Cooperation Movement of 1921.
