Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his humble tributes to freedom fighter and one of the pioneers of Odia language movement Pandit Nilakantha Das on his birth anniversary on Friday.

Pandit Nilakantha Das was born on this day in 1884 in Puri district. He was one of the most illustrious sons of Odisha, who appeared both in its political and literary arena at the most crucial period of its history, and had worked relentlessly for Odisha’s recognition both politically and linguistically.
