Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has thanked Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel for the inclusion of Odisha’s world-famous Konark Temple in the expanded list of Iconic Tourist Sites by the Government of India.
On Tuesday, the Union Minister confirmed in the Rajya Sabha that the Sun Temple at Konark has been included in Centre’s iconic tourism sites list, an initiative to develop iconic tourism sites into world-class tourism destinations.
Expressing his happiness over the announcement, the Odisha Chief Minister said that the sculptural marvel is one of the most fascinating monuments of India and finest representative of Kalinga architecture.

Notably, the Union Minister’s announcement came in response to a supplementary question by Biju Janata Dal MP Sasmit Patra during question hour in Rajya Sabha.
