Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has again taken strong and exemplary action against 14 Government of Odisha officials today.
He has never tolerated corruption and incompetence and his action today has further vindicated this. While Odisha is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2022 from 31st October to 6th November, 2022, in his own characteristic transparency-building initiatives, CM Naveen Patnaik dismissed four officials, sent four on compulsory retirement and withheld the pension of six officials permanently. This was specifically due to charges of corruption and incompetence that were on them.
One Superintending Engineer, two Assistant Engineers, One DSP, one CDPO, one Forest Range Officer, One Tahsildar, One BDO, one Senior Manager, one Tax Collector, One Supply Inspection and three Junior engineers were among these sixteen officials on whom action was taken. The action was taken on the basis of feedback received about these errant officers from 5T and Mo Sarkar initiatives.
CM Naveen Patnaik again epitomizing his high accountability and transparency standards took these strong steps against these officials. This is not the first time. Over the past 22 years as Chief Minister of Odisha, he has never spared anyone who even has had a shadow of corruption or incompetence on him or her. Ensuring effective and efficient governance to the people of Odisha has been his sole motive in public life.
Prior to this action, action has been taken against 173 Government officials and adding these 14 officials, the tally now stands at 187 officials against whom such stern actions have been taken by the Odisha Government.
