Bhubaneswar: More than five lakh 76 thousand students will attend today the Matriculation Summative-1 Assessment Examinations being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Odisha. For the first time, the BSE has introduced the Summative format of Examinations in the state. Board authorities have made extensive arrangements for smooth functioning of the examinations. 3143 Examination centers have been set up in the state for this purpose. While the examinations are to be held till 8th January, the first three days will have two sittings of written examinations, the final day on 8th January will have practical examinations.
Board of Secondary Education has made arrangements to send the question papers to 311 nodal centers in various districts. More than 100 squads have been formed which will conduct surprise checks in the schools.
Keeping in mind the rising number of Covid-19 infections, the Board has made special arrangements for maintenance of social distancing, sanitization, mask checking etc. Each examination room will have 24 seats for the students. No examinee or teacher in duty who has Covid infection will be allowed to enter the examination centers. The examinations are being conducted as per the new assessment system of the Board. For those who could not attend the examinations, the earlier formative examination marks will be taken for assessment.
