Bhubaneswar: Even though, the Centre has relaxed the night curfew from 9PM to 5AM in the fifth phase of COVID-19 lockdown, Odisha will continue to enforce the night curfew from 7PM to 7AM in view of spike in COVID-19 cases.
This has been informed by Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay while addressing the people on Monday.
Urging people to remain extremely cautious in June to contain the spread of the COVID-19, the DGP said that social distancing norms should be strictly followed by the people.
The top cop said that people who found without mask will be fined Rs 500 in the first two cases and it will be increased to Rs 1000 if they found violating the mask-wearing norms third time.
Besides, people who found spiting outside will be arrested, the DGP said.
The State police will strictly enforce the shutdown restrictions in 11 districts on Saturday and Sunday till June 30 as announced by the State Government, he added.
