New Delhi: The Delhi Government today rejected the mercy plea of Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case convict Mukesh Singh.
The mercy plea was then forwarded to Delhi Lieutenant Governor, who has sent it to Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
President Ram Nath Kovind will make a final decision on the basis of recommendations by the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The convicts were sentenced to death for raping a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus in the national capital in December 2012.
The victim had succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Singapore.
