Bhubaneswar: Odisha is one of the leading states in providing various welfare measures for construction workers, said, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Patnaik, also provided financial assistance to the deceased workers, students of construction workers, for labor and delivery and for the marriage of daughter to mark the commencement of the “Nirman Shramik Seva Week”.
Inaugurating the Nirman Shramik Seva Week, Patnaik said that his government is always trying hard to provide their legitimate rights to the workers.
The Naveen Patnaik led government has constructed as many as 22 thousand houses for the construction workers under “Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana (NSPGY)” and a whopping 29 lakhs construction workers have been registered under the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.
The government has provided an assistance of Rs. 1518 crores for the welfare of the workers.
Meanwhile, the government has also created a corpus fund of Rs 500 cr. for the welfare of the workers working outside the State.
