Sambalpur: There will be no mass namaz on Eid at the Eidgah in Sambalpur city this year.
The district administration has decided not to allow mass prayers at the Eidgah in the city on Eid as curfew continues to remain in force here since April 14 midnight. However, the members of the minority community can offer prayers in mosques.
At a peace meeting held on Thursday, the district administration requested the members of the minority community to offer namaz in mosques instead of congregating at the Eidgah this year.
The members of the community have agreed to the proposal.
Meanwhile, the curfew has been relaxed by 12 hours from 6 am to 6 pm following improvement of the situation.
