No Public to Be Allowed to Visit Temples till May 15 in Ganjam

Berhampur: In view of the gravity of the resurgence due to COVID-19 pandemic, the devotees will not be allowed to visit temples and other religious institutions till May 15 in Ganjam.

District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has issued an order in this regard on Wednesday.

“Keeping in view of the gravity of the resurgence due to COVID-19 pandemic and as preventive measures in the interest of the general health of public and preventing spread of infection:- Religious rituals in Temples/ Churches / Mosques / places of worship of Ganjam District shall be priests adhering to Covid safety protocols.

As regards to entry of devotees into such religious places, no premises from 22-04-2021 to 15-05-2021 allowed with limited number of public will be allowed to temple, the order reads.

All public places like Parks, Grounds, Sea Beach & Lake shall be closed for public from 22-04-2021 to 15-05-2021.

The above actitivities will be supervised by Commissioner, BeMC in Berhampur Sub-Divisional Magistrate in their respective jurisdiction through Municipal Area & concerned Tahasildars, Block Development Officers and Excutive Officers, NAC.

The violator will be punished as per the law.
