No Respite From Heat Wave Condition As Warning Issued For Seven Districts

Bhubaneswar: The prevailing heat wave conditions in the state will continue for another two days with the Indian Meteorological Department issuing warning for seven districts. The IMD has issued warning for heat wave for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Boudh where the temperatures will remain higher than normal. The situation will remain same till the 21st of this month. After Friday, some places may record a little decline in the temperatures and some places get thundershowers with rains.

The state government has declared holidays for schools for today and tomorrow. All government and private schools will remain closed due to the prevailing heat wave conditions. Yesterday, Mayurbhanj and Jharsuguda had recorded temperatures of 44.2 degrees Celsius where as Bhubaneswar and Cuttack reported 42. 7 and 42.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
