No Respite From Severe Heat Wave Conditions In State

Bhubaneswar: The extreme heat wave conditions prevailing in various places of Odisha are likely to continue for two to three days more. Temperatures are likely to be four to five degrees more than normal till 15th of this month. According to the MET Department, interior districts along with the western Odisha districts will continue to experience heat wave conditions and in coastal areas, sultry weather will continue.

Capital city Bhubaneswar recorded 30 degrees Celsius at 5 AM today while there was 88 percent moisture. The MET Department has also issued Orange warning for heat wave to severe heatwave condition at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Keonjhar for today. Likewise, yellow warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Nuapada, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj districts.

Also, thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj today.
